Modern Home in the Netherlands
To any normal person the idea of living in a giant hay bale seems ridiculous but that's because you haven't seen the way the Dutch do hay bale.
Situated in the town of Zoermeer in the Netherlands, this contemporary house is aimed to be a peaceful place for a family living.
The house is located in between city and open planes and is designed with pure and plain construction. As you can see from the spectacular images, the roof is covered by thick thatch, while the walls are made of stones and a clay plaster.
The result is a contemporary house design where there is no urban feeling left. This modern rural living is a perfect mixture of traditional and contemporary elements. The important things that have to be considered when designing in pure forms are simplicity, durability and expression.
By combining the thatch roof and white plaster surfaces, the house looks both traditional and very modern at the same time. The exterior texture is continued to the interior design that is distinguished by the use of natural materials to create unique décor.
Each of the room is covered with glass windows, providing enough sunlight during the day and also invites the view in. From the main entrance we could go up by stairs and walk in to the living room and open kitchen. Large transparent slide doors divide the indoor and garden area.
The main entrance is very spacious with transparent separator, allowing lot of light to come in. Up to the next level, you can find main bedroom, second bathroom and three other bedrooms. The master bedroom is complemented with shower room and elegant bathtub.
