Plovdiv

Plovdiv is the second largest city in Bulgaria and has a population of roughly 400,000 people. The city of Plovdiv is situated in southern Bulgaria along part of the Upper Thracian Plain and is built on seven syenite hills which has led to it often be referred to as the city of the seven hills. The city of Plovdiv covers a surface area of 101 square kilometers which is equivalent to about 0.1% of Bulgaria.
